About

The Resilient Athlete Institute is a holistic training space where mental strength, emotional resilience, and athletic performance meet. Founded by a Registered Social Worker and mindfulness academic with a deep love for sports (especially hockey!), movement, and mindful self-discovery, the Institute exists to help athletes become not only stronger competitors, but more grounded, confident, and self-aware people.

Our approach blends sport psychology, mindfulness, emotional regulation, neuroscience, and evidence-based therapeutic strategies to support the whole athlete. We believe resilience is a skill that can be trained just as intentionally as strength, endurance, and technique. Through on-ice workshops, off-ice sessions, one-on-one coaching, and youth programs like Mindful Minis, we help athletes develop the mental tools they need to thrive under pressure, navigate big emotions, and build a healthier relationship with sport and themselves.

Rooted in values of curiosity, compassion, and social awareness, the Resilient Athlete Institute is committed to creating inclusive, empowering spaces where all athletes - especially 2SLGBTQIA+ youth and those with marginalized identities - can feel seen, supported, and capable of their fullest potential.

Whether learning “Penalty Box Emotions” on the ice, practicing mindful movement, strengthening mental game strategies, or navigating life's curveballs, every athlete who walks through our doors is guided to grow with intention, courage, and self-trust.
